Chapelle de St Michel de Braspart, Finistre, France
This beautiful chapel high up on the top of a mountain in the Monts d’Arree, was significantly damaged by a fire. It’s remarkable roof of very thick tiles was renewed. We were asked to restore the two windows that are made in the “Dalle de Verre” technique, the glass is 30 mmm thick and has to be shaped by a special hammer. The pieces are then laid out on to a table and a special cement/resin is poured around all the pieces, rather like a mold. There is no lead used in the making of this type of window.
